Founded by Hugo Reitzel in 1909 in Aigle, Reitzel Switzerland is the parent company of the group. Today, we produce our pickles as well as a wide range of mustards, sauces and vinegars in our historic factory in Aigle (VD).
Our historical brand Hugo Reitzel is present in restaurants as well as in the retail trade and has become a reference in terms of quality from the smallest to the largest of its product formats.
In 2017 and to enhance its collaboration with Swiss gherkin and cucumber producers, Reitzel Switzerland launched its HUGO brand. From 5 in 2014 to 12 in 2018, there are now more than 40 farmers who have joined the Swiss pickle adventure.
And Reitzel Switzerland's commitment to local agriculture doesn't stop there: with the launch of HUGO Swiss mustards and mayonnaise in 2018, then new collaborations have been set up with Swiss farmers, producers notably of mustard seeds in the canton of Vaud, of wild garlic in Ticino, Zürich and Aargau, or a free-range chicken breeder in the canton of Lucerne.
To celebrate its products, Reitzel Switzerland decided to open the HUGO Shop in its Aigle factory in 2020. The entire HUGO and Hugo Reitzel ranges are on display, as well as products from partner brands Crespo, FINI, Sabaro, Mutti, Colavita, Giuseppe Cremonini, Montalbano and Alexis Munoz. In order to promote the local culinary heritage, a wide range of regional products are present and selected according to the season.
